Did some jigging on the Saginaw River yesterday for walleye. A little early yet I think as the wife and I caught one each about 12.5" on a 3/8 oz lead jig with a blue ice minnow. We started up by the Edson destroyer ship/museum and fished downstream to the railroad bridge. Had a couple other bumps but that's about it. Only saw one legal fish netted and a couple other shorts. Should only get better as the fall moves to winter. Looked a little too breezy out on the bay so we stayed in the river.
Couldn't beat the day though as it was 74 and sunny. Not too many of those left but hopefully a couple lol.

Good morning, Mgiven, Thank you for sharing the update. We appreciate it.
Nice report! That river should turn hot pretty soon...as it always does! Glad you guys could get out and soak up the sun yesterday. It was indeed a good day to be on the water!
I was wondering if anything was happening. Havn't been there for couple years. Its about 100 miles over there. Keep us posted. Thank you catch a big one.
Will do sir. Hoping to get back out again this weekend. latest reports are catfish and rock bass mostly with a few walleye here and there. Shouldn't be too much longer to get better.
Thanks a lot!
But I want to stay close to home. S.E. Michigan.
