BLAH!!
Took the grandson for a walk on the beach. Thought I'd better pick up a license in case we decided to fish. Bought the usual licence with second pole and ocean enhancement. $74.24 plus taxes!
Not only that, it's only good til DEC. 31.

Picked these up during the walk. Chilly wind talked us out of wetting a line.

FF, welcome to Ca. thinking---those that pay for those that don't. Nice shells though and time with grandson will be memories for both of you.

Walking on or fishing from the pier does not equal the beach. Trust me.

Don't have to pay to fish on beach here , just register and try to find a beach in the Summer that doesn't charge you to go on it!!! After Labor Day all free. Your shells are cool. Anything living in them?

No state license required?
Found two with the snail still alive inside them. Put them on the jetty from which they came. They are known as wavy turbans.

California is not a place to retire to unless you have unlimited resources. The streets are littered with people who could no longer afford it in their “Golden years”. Many now homeless!

Amazing how long it took them to finally change the law to make a fishing license last for 365 days.
