Found your site today. Always excited to find more info. I hope to find the following on this site:
1. A fishing buddy at SML with some experience.....or heck, even just a hack like me! I am retired.
2. I really enjoy fly fishing on the Lake, a river/stream and ponds. Will do conventional equipment also. I would like to find a like minded fisherman.
3. Someone to share expenses for a fly fishing trip for Redfish on the (east) coast. Perhaps 2-3 times a year.
Me: 70 years old; retired veterinarian; living on SML.
Boat: 22' tritoon with trolling motor and decent sized front deck with mounted seats. Can be fished from the rear simultaneously. No bait tank. Has Lowrance.
Yak: Hobie Mirage with paddle drive and torpedo drive and is on a trailer.
I am all dressed up and need help finding the dance.

You're aittle outside my range, but I don't think you should have much trouble finding a partner. Welcome to the stage.
JTW, I have been fishing SML since Jan 2020.
I live in Charlottesville and own a condo at The Pointe.
I get down to the condo a couple of long weekends a month and in both spring and fall spend at least a week on site.
I am a member of the Smith Mountain Lake Striper Club. We are an organization that helps each other learn about how to fish the lake for stripers while also working alongside DWR to protect this valuable fishery and educate its fishing community.
I am more than happy to share the few tips I have picked up over the past couple of years; however, a guide may be more valuable. I only fish artificial bait at this time.
My hope is by next spring or fall to attempt to fly fish for stripers as I used to do when I lived in NJ 45 years ago with home tied flies.
Let me know
Bob Forsyth

JTW, Welcome to the Stage. Nice to have you. Hope you hook up with a bud, and get some fishing in before it gets too chilly, even in Va.
