Ventured 3 hours s/w to fish Noxon Reservoir for two days for the first time. Beautiful body of water with 61 miles of shoreline. Weather was just a perfect fall day, with no wind and maybe a total of 5 boats. Caught lots of smallmouth & largemouth, mostly fishing the fat ika flipping into tall grass. And as much as I tried, I couldn’t keep away from all the big pike which put a huge dent in my tackle as they would crush moving baits. Highlight for me was fighting a small bass and then suddenly seeing a huge pike come out nowhere, and swallowing my bass and lure and slowly sinking away in the clear water. If pike is your thing, this is your place. All fish released to fight again. Tight lines to all.

Nice catch JB. They do the same thing here, either destroy or steal your baits. Thanks for the pictures.

Three words come to mind "Green with Envy". You certainly made the right choice in leaving SoCal lakes for those of Montana. And you earned every bit of it! Grats my friend and keep those pics coming.

Great outing JB! Plenty of bass...which I know to be among your favorites! As for those giant pike...sign me up...I love catching them, although don't specifically target them too often around here. You definitely have some fantastic choices for places to drop a line in the water!

I haven't caught a Pike since I left Wisconsin in the early 70's. I am envious.

You hit it right with the perfect weather we are having. All gonna change soon though, although I have seen you launch in the cold and snow, lol. What was the water temp?
Congrats on a great trip to Noxon! That lake is about 4 hours from me. Take care

You hit all the right notes that day JB, weather, wind, fish and reward on being on a beautiful body of water. One of my regrets in life is that I did not spend serious time in places like Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. There is something grand about all of them. Consider yourself lucky to have participated.
