Howdy, new member here, cclewis76. I live in Spring, tx, I'm a little over an hour form the coast. I love saltwater fishing, grew up fishing the bays and bayous. I'm about to retire (can't come soon enough...) I have a 20' CC fishing boat and it's about to start getting a lot of use. I've been trolling this site for awhile, lots of good info and people here. Glad to be here!

Welcome to the Stage CC. Lots of Texans here. Congratulations on your upcoming retirement. I've enjoyed my first 6 months of being free.
Good Luck and Tight Lines.

Welcome aboard CC and congrats on your upcoming retirement, I live close to Galveston Bay and am going fishing 🎣 from the bank this evening as the Reds have been biting close to the rocks.

Welcome Lorie Brewer here, up in Tarrant County. One of these days I plan to go fish in Galveston. I became interested in fishing while watching the series Alaska the Last Frontier, North Woods Law and Lone Star Law. My husband Terry and I began fishing Labor Day, it was 20 years since he fished last and 49 years for me. We fish 4-5 times a week.

Welcome clewis76, hope you have as much fun on your retirement as I have had in this past year. Maybe e can get together and do some fishing after you settle in to your new relaxed life. Where do you normally fish at? Do you wade or sure fish? Here's to the fish keep biting your hook.

Thanks OF77. I have never wade fished and now that I have a bum hip, it's probably not going to happen. But, I fish from the boat and occasionally from the bank. I went to the Texas City Dike Sunday morning thinking that just before the front blew in the reds would be biting. Didn't even get a bite. I fish the Freeport area mostly since I grew up fishing that area, but have been venturing into Galveston bay a lot more. Might give you a shout and we'll go sometime...
