Tough day to face, but had to take her to be winterized and shrink wrapped today…..

Was a great season…got a new boat! Fished with Kandi! And caught a whole mess of fish!

Gonna be a long 5 months😭

And i know…im missing the thick of striper season…it pains me not to be able to go out for stripers….but my schedule for the next month and the extra slip fee just wouldn’t work out
(this year anyway….)☹️

How sad. I feel for ya. I just couldn't imagine livin in a place anymore that I'd have to winterize my boat.
I say that as I'm preparing to move back to Tahoe for 1 to 2 years and sellin the boat I have now.
However, when I move down to the Brentwood area I will own another boat and use it year round like I do now.

Sad news Danger. Thanksgiving weekend was always my last trip, and prepare for haul out, when I had my big boat. I always did my own winterizing and covering. I'm still fishing till Thanksgiving, even in freshwater. Who knows, maybe longer now that I'm not restricted by work. Have a safe and happy winter buddy.

Striper season is just getting started. Trailer the boat. Plenty of boat ramps at Barnegat bay, great bay, brigantine, ocean city, Somerspoint, follow the stripers on down to cape May. They were slamming them close to the beach at island beach state part and Barnegat inlet, northern LBI last weekend into Monday and Tuesday. Most fish were over 40” there were Whales , even tuna. It was National Geographic out there. It’s going to be good this season.

Nice looking set up there danger! I know the feeling of calling it quits for a given boating season in the Northern latitudes. I have always bemoaned the closer of open water seasons, which is why I have been getting more and more into enjoying fishing thru the ice during Winter! Take care and I'm glad to hear that you did get some great fishing experiences in!

Sorry to hear that Danger. I never imaged having to put the boat up for winter. I feel for you.

Thanks Griz….yeah, the old boat dying on me was a blessing in disguise. Got a beautiful new boat now and things are looking up for the spring.

Im taking my girls ( and boyfriends) to Houston this year to see the Eagles play the Texans in November ( another reason why i didnt pay extra for extended stay at slip) they liked the denver trip last year so much that i think this is gonna be a yearly tradition now. An expensive one ,but you only live once.

We’ll get you to cape may next spring to wet some lines for sure!

How far for you to Island Beach State Park? Looks like @2hrs? Some really good striper fishing off the shore in November. In case you need a fishing "fix" lmk, I'll drive down and join you there!! Would be fun. And anyone else who want to come!!!

Enjoy the trip brother. You're right about only living once. I didn't get to take all the trips I wanted to but I had a great time this yr. Hopefully next yr I won't need to lay out so much money on non-fishing things. Looking forward to my first offshore fishing experience 👍🎣
