Fished the Columbia River last night. Wind was blowing about 15, by dark it was really picking up. By 9pm we were getting wet from the spray. We caught three altogether. Fishing in a 16’ aluminum lake boat. It was nice to get back in the truck.

Sounds like you worked for them, but nice Eyes, Russ. Be careful out there at night.
Thanks everyone, it was a little work keeping the boat on track. Water was real low, so we had that to deal with that as well. Fortunately I’m fishing with an experienced boater & fisherman, more so than myself. I feel pretty fortunate to have a mentor at my age.
Sounds like some nasty weather but it looks like it paid off. Just be careful out there and hopefully you’ll get into them again

Nice fish D. I can taste them already.
Nice fish. Just an FYI. I do not fish the Columbia in a boat that small. That river can go from glassy to whitecaps in as little as 10 minutes. I have had a 100 ton Masters license for over 25 years and fished both commercial and private from white water rivers to blue water for over 60 years. Regardless of experience, it is not smart to challenge mother nature. I am not scolding or judging. I am not in a position nor should I judge you. I just want everyone to think about safety before they step into a any boat on any water.

Thank you Bapa for your authority, your experience. Thank you for sharing.
Very cool! What did you catch them on? I'm a Midwest walleye guy, still trying to figure out these western eyes.
Cheers
Yumm! Any hints on location? Above or below Coulee dam?
