Hey y’all-
Senior lady here. Haven’t fished for years, but used to go a lot with my dad when a cold. Seems like a good way to enjoy a few retirement days. Think I will mainly fish for catfish and crappie. Live in Simpsonville, SC, which seems kind of like in the middle of several nice lakes. What do you think is the best lake to fish? I like eating fish, so don’t want contaminated water. Someone told me that there’s no limit on Lake Greenwood, so thought would go there. Welcome any advice from you all. Thank you in advance.

Good evening, 53, welcome to the Forum. Sorry, I can't help you from MN., but we do have quite a few members from SC.

If you were down my way I could help you out with the cat. Haven't fished any up there. Good luck and enjoy your retirement. Gordon.

Welcome ! I know my son fishes at Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee . I tried fishing at Lake Greenwood the first of September while there for a family reunion but had rod and line issues . I’ll see what I can find out from my son about upstate lakes .

This is what he said : lake keowee
We usually catfish. I use flat tail worms and sometimes cooked steak and small bream
Welcome Stage Lady.
I was told there is a limit of 20 crappie per person in SC period. I am going to Lake Greenwood with some friends tomorrow. Will be happy to share a report. I have not fished in Lake Greenwood before.

Good afternoon Quiet Lady
Crappie perch stripped bass and spotted bass were biting today at Lake Greenwood in Waterloo. Forecast is good for Crappie Monday and Tuesday. We fished from a boat.
Good Luck
Good afternoon Stage Lady. Went to Lake Greenwood in Waterloo today. Had a good half day with Crappie, striped bass, large mouth bass and perch.
Thank you very much for the information. Would you mind telling me what bait you used?
You may want to search South Carolina DNR Fish Consumption Advisory. There are parts of Lake Hartwell that no fish are to be eaten. I look at it every now and then.
