One wish

A fisherman hooked a lamp during a fishing trip to his favorite lake.
Upon rubbing the bottle, a genie appeared and said, "You are hereby granted one wish".
The fisherman requested to live forever, upon which the genie said that particular wish could not be granted.
Therefore, the man wished to live until the day after a bi-partisan Congress put in a full honest day's work promoting the best interests of all Americans and balancing the budget with unified support.
The genie replied, "Oh, you're a crafty bastard".

I've known many congressmen, and without exception they need to compromise to get anything done. Problem is, most compromise their principles even under the best of circumstances.
