Alabama Fishing

Finally got to go to Lake Guntersville for a few days last week. Unfortunatly we had the first good cold front of the season meet us there. Super windy and chilly nights. Naturaly the bass and sacalait mostly had lockjaw. I ended up bream fishing around the boat houses in our cove, doing really good and noodle fishing catfish. Consistantly got two catfish out of 10 noodles every night, used perch minnows for bait. Used 400 crickets on the bream. Probably got 300+ bream between me and the wife. Released all but what we ate. Bream tasted fantastic, the catfish were ok, but still had a hint of that Alabama muddy taste. No catfish is better than a Louisiana catfish.
Great cabin, VRBO# 183406. The owner will rent direct if anyone wants his contact info send me a PM.

Sounds like you made lemonade out of lemons Mark. One of these days I'm gonna get out my cane poles and panfish. Glad you made the best of it. Thanks for the pictures.

Nice Cats Mark. Are they Blues or Channels? I have always liked to eat Bream and Crappie better than catfish.

I love bluegill (Bream) fishing, the fight on ultra light rods is great fun. Besides they make for a great dinner.

They were channel cats. Down here in Alabama you can buy crickets by the 100 for around $4.00.
