I'm out here freezing trying to catch a cat. Do you have any tips for me? I caught a huge blue A couple hours ago when I threw in but now I’m not even getting a bite

What bait are you using and how deep is the water? We use live bait for flatheads and cut bait for channels mostly sunnies sometimes eel works I try to keep my rigs as simple as possible 16”-20” Carolina with different size hooks

i’m fishing with the Carolina rig as well but I don’t know the links I’ve never really measured it I didn’t know that there was a certain measurement to it lol I am fishing with just about everything. I have shines, Well I had shiners But they died and I cut them and I caught a big cat on one piece and something else took the other four pieces. bounced my rod pretty hard but I didn’t catch them. Now I am fishing with shrimp that’s marinated in stink bait, cut bream and other junk. I'm in 20 foot water and fishing with 3 rods 2 is at bottom and one is mid wayz. I was trolling but I anchored and now I’m about to pull up and just move to a whole new location

hi ivancast, great job! I'm originally from bucks county, we never had flatheads back in the day. where did you get them? just a general area, not looking for specifics

Hey Joe thank you they are in the Delaware I don’t catch them often I catch a lot more channel cats

wow, unreal ! i caught a golden channel cat at scudders falls once , that was pretty cool. the river is full of surprises , used to get blue claw crabs in bensalem and saw a guy catch and release a sturgeon in bristol once

I caught 2 piranhas in the Duck Island power plant.

Welcome to the forum Ivankast. Looks like you're doing everything right on those flathead. The color of your fish is somewhat lighter than our flathead in this part of Oklahoma. I'm sure it's something to do with the environment of the fish. Good luck & keep up the catching.
