Back in my younger days, I hunted coon with a guy who was a logger. He made a comment while we were hunting a piece of property that they were some nice trees in here. Two weeks later, he bought the 400-acre farm, logged the virgin timber off, built a new log house on it from some of the trees, and sold the rest of the trees, then sold the farm, and the new house. He made a killing on the whole operation. That is the type of person that he is. One time, he had permission to log off an 80-acre chunk that was landlocked with no road access to it. He asked permission from the adjoining land owner if he could drive through his property in order to get to the 80. The farmer said no, he didn't want that big heavy equipment going across his field roads. Jim, my buddy, said, "How much do you want for your farm?" The farmer said, "My farm isn't for sale." Jim said, "How many acres do you have here?" The farmer told him, and Jim said, "Ill give you, X number of dollars for your farm." I don't remember how much it was, but the farmer replied, "Son you just bought yourself a farm." Jim logged both places off, then sold the farm for more than what he had paid for it. He made money on both the farm and the logs. He is a self-made millionaire, by the age of 50, and never graduated from high school. He quit school because he was too busy working, doing his shenanigans.

I've known a few like that. I guess I'm just not as big of a risk taker as those guys.
