Got to Spring Lake this morning at 6:30 it was cool 53 degrees and cloudy, went to my spot that has been real fishy, well it did not disappoint, on my second cast I caught a nice Bass! The clouds never cleared up, usually it will clear up mid morning and the fishing gets better when the sun comes out. Well the fish dint seem to mind the clouds, after a few more fan cast I got into another nice Bass! After what seemed like a hour I hooked into the biggest one of the day! Great fight into the trees then got caught up on a log got her out to have her dart in to the Reeds! Some how I got her in! What a fun day at Spring Lake! Caught them all on a rubber craw! Good luck and be safe!!

Thanks Andy! I’m truly blessed to be able to fish as much as i do! This past 3 months has been a epic run for me. Im lucky to have some great fisheries in my area. But today going back to Sonoma lake is what is all about for me, miles of open shore line and smallmouth bass! largemouth bass! Catfish! Crappie! all in one lake! Looking forward to fishing Sonoma a lot more this fall! Hope you get back out fishing soon and catch a bunch! Good luck and be safe!!

Nice bass Matt! They do look pretty well fed. What's the forage in that lake?

Thanks DCGravity! I’m not sure what there main food source is? I’m still learning Spring lake, I see a lot of bait fish, and bluegill swimming around, I’m going to do some research and see if I can figure that out! I actually been thinking about that because of how big and healthy the fish are. Have a great week! Good luck and be safe!!

Sorry about your luck with the Halibut. Last time I fished for them did really well with one of the flashing lights as part of the rig. Just went out of Brookings yesterday and got limits of bottom fish including two ling cod.
