Where to fish northern Colorado.
Fishn Fool here. Anyone have suggestions on a good river to fish for cutthroat trout in Northern Colorado? And what to use? Thanks.
Try the "Pooder" (aka Cache la Poudre), not far out of Ft. Collins.
I didn't have much luck in the way of actually CATCHING, but you simply can't find a prettier stretch of water to fish....and I'm from Oregon, known for beautiful streams, rivers and lakes.
Thanks for the info FixorFish. I enjoy the catching also but as you say the trip adventure is #1 and Colorado is as the name implies there's a lot of colorful, beautiful places in this state. I'm on it.

Poudre canyon is a beautiful place, but the lower end near Fort Collins for cutthroat trout will be few and far between.
Those waters will hold mostly browns with rainbows here and there.
Cutthroats are found in cooler, clear waters found in the higher elevations.
Streams and lakes at the head waters of the Poudre river will be a better location to find cutthroats.
