Seining the Toms River & Barnegat Bay.
I can remember my Grandfather, Father & Uncles seinging the Toms River with a 60 ft Seining Net (I'm told when they were younger my grandfather would take the minnows, crush them up & put them in potatoes to eat 'cuz times were tough.
I recently purchased the smallest, 4 ft, Seining Net because I've done it with a 20-footer and at my age (72) I don't want to overexert myself, fall-in & drown.
I use, with another person a 50 footer on the north side of the Oceanic Bridge (Navesink River) and do quite well with crabs including shedders and softies. For spearing, which are good eating, a 20 foot net just about anywhere in the 'twin rivers' will get you all you want.
