Hello, I am from Colchester , CT

I have been trying my luck at the CT and Niantic rivers this summer with no action using sandworms and squid. Anyone feel it is better to use chicken skins and pork fat? Or does anyone recommend using squid boppers and lures from the shore? I am determined to catch a fish this year! Any suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to the stage Sergeant. You’re about 1 hour from one of the stages most famous members, Fredfish. He should be along soon after his afternoon nap. That is unless he’s still on his road trip. Just look up his name in the user list and you’ll see him there.

Welcome to the Stage Sergeant. What are you trying to catch, and what part of the rivers are you fishing?

Sarge.... Welcome to the Stage. I'm a Colchester guy also. Nice town I M O just the right size, quiet, but not too sleepy. And , we actually use our Town Green for events and activities, not just for a picture on a calendar. About the fishing, I'll make a wild guess and presume you're fishing the mouth of these two rivers trying to hook up with some striped bass. If so, I'd be surprised if chicken and pork baits would be much help, but I'm open to learning about that stuff. Chicken skins used like a lure, twitched along seems like a possibility. Certainly would have a nice motion, and chicken scent might work ? There are some good sized catfish in the Connecticut, and they might respond. I know nothing about the Niantic, and would like to hear about any successes you may have had there in the past. You gotta tell us more, Bro, and then maybe someone here can help ya formulate a strategy to score some fish.
Glad you chose to join us. nutz
