Good morning, ITA, welcome to the Forum, I wish I could tell you, that would mean that I was fishin' it. Stop in at the fly shop and ask them. They will point you in the right direction. Tight lines, my friend.
If they’re not running more than 1 generator you should be able to park and fly fish close to the dam. If 2 or more you’ll be bank fishing. If bank fishing I’d use mepps spinners. Check with the fly shop for what’s working.
Thx for the info! Will stop at the shop indicated and get some more info and gear. Good to be doing some fishing.

My wife and I fished Tannycomo today with a guided float trip. Temperature has been in the middle 90's for the last week and the water being released from Table rock is very low in O2 as the lake has not yet turned over. Not ideal conditions for trout fishing. We saw quite a few fish and caught about 12 ,14-16 inches on flies . Cooler temps later in the week should improve fishing. Saw others catching fish from boats as well. Don't know about the wader's
If you want a guided fly trip I would recommend Carolyn at River run outfitters. She and her husband own the shop. She is an Orvis qualified fly fishing instructor and guide. Even if you are not a fly fisherman I think she may be able to give you suggestions on lures and locations on the river to fish. Tell her Mark and Lynn referred you .
Thx for the info. Still unpacking and getting food in. All poles strung and hoping to get out tomorrow.

Go to energy.gov/swpa/generation
This will give scheduled releases for all dams along this river system (TRD is Table Rock) hour by hour for the next 7 days. That said, scheduled does not mean actual. This is the government, you see.

Good info, Jo. Thanks for sharing.
Thx, good to know where to look before heading over. Saw many trout caught this morn by other people directly below the dam. Fishing great but catching bad for me, stopped at Fly Shop just north of dam and bought some 6x fluorocarbon for leader and some brown and grey scuds. Maybe tomorrow.
So. 2nd try at the TRD. Got at site a little later than yesterday, about 7:45. Weather great, not as many trout seen caught; more than usual crowd of 12+fishing the input flow at the stairs with float, scuds and weight to get the scud down but not on bottom?? Left about 9:30 and picked up some. 8x pinch weights for tomorrow. Might try a float too. When in Rome, err, Branson, follow the lead…..
3rd try, 4 trout netted, all > 12 inches and released, largest near sixteen. Lots of strikes, lost two scuds. Last fish very big, broke on trying to net. Constantly cleaning weed off of scud. Using red strike indicator a rods length above lure, 8x split shot, 8x fluorocarbon tippet, grey and brown scours. Thx!!
