I went out today and caught one pickerel not even worthy of posting a picture, but yesterday after I caught my PB 5 pound 4 ounce bass as I was taking pictures and basking in the glory my net slipped overboard, I didn’t realize it till some time later so I had no idea where is was. As I was fishing today I looked down and there it was, it was only in six feet of water and because the actual net part is a rubber that part floated, so it was standing upright on its handle. Had it not been so calm I never would have seen it. This lake is not huge but not tiny either, 220 acres. I still can’t believe it.

Amazing you went right over it… even more to of seen it. Can add something to it so it will float. Pool noodles. Just a little will do it.

I already took care of that. I really like this net because hooks don’t get caught in it, you can get them right out, I watch my nephew struggle with getting his treble hooks out of his net.

You are living the good life Gary when things like that happen. I used to use a pool noodle and a former member here put me on to a paddle clamp to keep it top side. Noodle sometimes got cumbersome netting a bigger fish.

If using noodles I was thinking just enough to make it float… not where hands will ever be either.

Here's my mounting of the net. It's also tethered with a 6' line just in case.

You must buy living right Gary. I probably wouldn't have found it with a grid search.

Fred I still can’t believe it! The conditions were perfect, so calm and the odds of drifting right over it. I very rarely fish while drifting because it’s usually not the calm.

If you want to try something less cumbersome than the pool noodle, and the rubber is already buoyant, take the grip off and stuff some Styrofoam, or packing peanuts into the handle. Stuff as much as you can in there and put the grip back on. Many brands used to come that way, but the string or nylon nets weren't buoyant so they floated handle up.

I think it’s going to be good the way I have it, where I hold it is not covered.

Just a thought, in case you decide to attach it with some clips.
