Schnikey! Did I make up a new word? I started replacing poem with pome long ago, before Stage time, since there are hardly any words that rhyme with poem.
Like orange, there just ain't no rhymers.

I guess that it's time for a word explanation,
Bout a word that I use when I write.
I use it for rhymin',
It helps with my timin'
And won't let me be impolite.
Alot of my stories are all about bassin,
On my lake, real close to my home.
And here's how I use it,
Don't mean to confuse it,
There's no other word just like pome.
The word pome is simple and easy to use,
It rhymes with words used every day.
My pome'n's not normal,
Or snooty or formal,
And I use it to rhyme what I say.

I just "figgered" you was writin' like you spoke, you bein' in that there part of the Ozarks country....a good deal of careful listenin' required when jawin' with the locals there, leastways that's what my cuzzins from Batesvull sez....I just go along and nod my accord with 'em, dontcha see ?
A rare word that rhymes with poem
Feed the cows, feed em brohm!
Growing up in a Kansas cattleman's family I am familiar with the term.... but it's actually BROME.... which doesn't really help, does it ?
How about.....
"know 'em"
"stow 'em"
"blow 'em"
"grow 'em"
"snow 'em"
"show 'em"
...... just sayin'........
