Dove hunt with my boys and grand sons

Had a great shoot with my boys.
Shot 100 birds opening morning and the second moring was a good shoot.

Good shoot, glad you had a good time, how old is the grandson? When you get home its only going to be 107 to 112 F

He's 12 almost 13.
We are staying one mor day because of the fire 🔥
On the 5fwy by Castaic lake. Got ready to leave this morning it was TV that the 5 was down to two lanes 😒 and being detour.
Call you tomorrow when we get back home.

Fred I've shot alot of dove since I was 12yrs old but now to hunt with my sons and my Grandsons is what it is all about to me now.

Nice day Andy, I’m assuming they’re mourning doves like ours but maybe they’re a different species out there. Anyway, that’s a gang of doves, they’re so much fun and by late season, (at least here) they bob, weave,and change elevation making them more difficult to hit. They’ve embarrassed me numerous times. I like to fillet the breasts, wrap them in bacon and grill them. So darn tasty.

We also have white wings they come Mexico and Arizona, they are alittle bigger have a bigger beak and and a white band on there shoulder.
And you are right about the fall season the reason why they have more feathers 🪶.
And we BBQ them the same way 😋. Also try putting the small yellow pepperochiny wrapped in Bacon 🥓.
