A friend and I went to Vega res. Tuesday and had as good of weather as you can ask for. We got there at 07:22 hours and started to catch fish right away: not BIG ones but from 13-15" and very pink meat.......yummy!!! We de-a$$ed the AO by 09:45 hours and headed home with our limit. One of these days I WILL remember to take pictures....my bad.....AGAIN.

The algee problem is pretty much over with only a little on the surface so not a problem. By 10:00 hours fishing usually starts to slow down and doesn't pick up again "til around 18:00 hours in case anyone here wants to know. There is only one boat ramp open due to the low water.

Vega Lodge has some good food and would appreciate your business. They are only open from 11:00 to 15:00 hours. When we camp there, my wife and I make it a point to visit there. Very nice people!!!

Good report. Were you bank fishing or from your little toon?

We were bank fishing. I watched boats trolling and drifting and we did as good or even better than they did. Most of the time chunky cheese bait worked better than worms, in the gravel pit area that's directly across the lake from the handicap pier.

Wow! Lived in Colorado off & on for a total of over 25 years. Didn't even know there was a Vega reservoir. Looks beautiful. Good to know.
