Arrived at the lake around 7AM, 50* with just enough wind to create a light chop. Drug crawler harnesses at .8 to 1 mph. Blaine got the prize today with a 6.5 lb. Walleye and a 25” snot rocket, we caught another 3 eyes that were too close to 18” ( the minimum) and released them. I lost a good eye right at the boat as well, not as big as Blaine’s but a good 5 lbs. I also kept a 13.5 “perch, a twelve “crappie and a 9” gill, all on crawler harnesses. Temperature topped out at a pleasant 80 degrees. Simply the most beautiful day of summer. The lake is 500 acres and electric only, no motorized boats or jet skis to break the silence or screw up the fishing .

We’ve had some more productive fish catching days but the weather is what really made the outing.

Thanks Rock Hound, Blaine’s gotten the eyes up to 9# out of that lake and spoke with an old buck that had one over 12# a few years ago. The guy seemed credible but you know fisherman can stretch it, still I believe he was legit.
