I got on the lake around 5:30am and then the fog rolled in... pea soup until around 9:30am.. fishing by braille until someone in another boat in the fog dragging long lines cut across my bow and managed to snag both
of my downrigger balls ... did they stop .. of course NOT.. I did collect two Dodgers and lures from my downrigger balls... had 8 hook ups.. 2 in the bucket.. still a great time...
Foggy time
A lot less fog
Kokanee that made it to the bucket
Love those Kokes, good job

I am going to give Lake Whatcom a try Monday. Very low wind forecasted. I have always had better luck there this time of year behind the island. The fish are usually smaller, but more cooperative. I heard several reports this spring that the fish were larger than normal. I have not fished Whatcom this year so it seems like a good time to give it a try. Note (crack of Dawn) If nothing else, the boat traffic in that are is much less than the rest of the lake. Being a holiday, we may be done early. We might find ourselves fly fishing for bluegill at Fazon. Have you tried Whatcom this year?
I have fished Whatcom only once this year right after it opened back in April.. caught 6 kokanee on the smaller side.. are you going to launch at the south end of the lake or at Bodel?? Keep your eyes peeled for a blue bimni Smokercraft... I will launch at Bodel and try the Silver Beach Basin before heading to the south end.. maybe we will see each other..

Change in plans. I am headed out to Point Roberts to see if there are any silvers around and soak a few crab pots. The boat line on a Whatcom holliday popped back into my mind.
Good luck and keep it safe.. I will let you know how I do on whatcom..
