Fredfish is out on a lake right now. He'll probably get back to you later.

Welcome to the Stage Puncherschance. Although I spent many years fishing and boating on the Sound, I have no experience up in the Stonington area. Sorry, I can't help you, but good luck and be safe out there, especially on the holiday weekend.

Punch....Welcome to the Stage, ANOTHER new Connecticut face. I We have had a pretty healthy influx of new CT folks in the last couple of months, maybe we'll be seeing each other on or by the water. I also have no experience in the Stonington area. Maybe you could try searching the user list and locate someone in that vicinity and private mail them for some help ? Good Luck.

Well it was a great day on the water even though I didn’t catch anything.

Going to have to learn to good spots I guess .
Would love anyone with knowledge of the area to give some advice if willing

Last week, during the Tournament, they were hammering big Blues from the Race all the way to Watch Hill. Stripers were around too between Fishers Island and Sugar Reef. There used to be decent Fluke fishing between Bartlett Reef and Napatree Point. Check with the local Tackle Shops to get the latest info. Good luck, and don't forget the pictures!

Hi I just moved here last fall myself and don't have a boat but we have been on a couple of charter fishing trips and we used parachute jigs by the race lighthouse to slay stripers. The porgy fishing is also good at any of the reefs, just drift over them bottom fishing with a porgy rig and squid or clams.

Are all the reefs deep enough to drift over them ?

Hi all !!
Been awhile . I’ll be heading to Lewis Bay for squid this weekend weather permitting.
Anyone ever do the squid ?

I did get out to Stonnington and got some Blackfish and a sea bass to keep great time .
No luck all year with striper and everyone has said what an outstanding year for striper !! I need to sharpen my skills .
