Folsom Lake - beat the heat!

It’s a hot one today! Going to be 104 today so I went out early to beat the heat! I managed to hook up on several and the water level keeps dropping. Folsom Lake is known for mostly Spotted Bass and a few Smallies with a sprinkling of some Large Mouth! This lake also has some nice size trout and even land lock king salmon.
With the water level dropping the fish have moved to a different location but still not too far from where they were. They are still feed on bait fish and pretty cool to watch and have me some new ideas. Went to BassPro Shop today and can’t wait to try out some new crank baits. Fish On!

Nice fish. When and if the water comes back to your California lakes, It will be like fishing new reservoirs. A few slow years with small fish, then watch out. You look young enough to enjoy the next comeback. Take every opportunity you can.

The lake was at full capacity in June. The water level is actually a lot higher than last year this time of year. We’re close enough to the Sierras to get the snow melt to fill the river and lakes up every year.
