went out to possession bar again. lots of Bait fish and a lot of seals. at one point we literally had over 30 porpoises all around my boat about 50-75' away. and lots of birds but no salmon. we caught several dog fish and several "shakers" including 1 head that a seal left on the hook. nice day on the water but the run is not here yet, by the creel reports it seems the best bet is by Bremerton but that is further than I care to go.

I know last year it was more like 1st of October for the run. but we always have some resident coho who stay in the puget sound and never make it all the way to the ocean so even though they are alot fewer in number I will catch one every now and then. and while I don't eat the dog fish they are still fun to catch. just a note the season ends Sept. 25 so the run could miss the season or close to the end.

you know even though I would like to catch the run this season I really wouldn't be to upset if it came i. late I already have plenty of salmon that I have caught in the freezer and it is always nice to be out on the sound even when fishing is slow

That's all that counts DC. Enjoy your time on the water.

Fortunately, many of the rivers are open after that. Hopefully they don't blow out so bad this year.

I was out last weekend area 11. I didn't get any salmon but saw someone else pull out 6 which I believe were cohos. I was a little distance away but saw the WSDFW agent taking pictures. I caught a couple rockfish, a nice sized flounder, and about 6 dogfish as well. I have fun catching anything and it's great when I catch something different. Glad it was still a good for you.

Don't feel bad DC,tried the Tulalip Bubble today, only 5 other boats, showed lots of fish on the screen but nothing biting, tried trolling and mooching but nada, the highlight of the trip was seeing some gray whales swimming around the entrance to the bay.
