Hello!
I just retired and moved to the Tampa Bay area from southeastern PA. I couldnāt wait to do more saltwater fishing. My wife surprised me with a lot of great tackle as a retirement gift. I have a couple of nice reels, a few good rods, and many of the basics. I plan on mainly fishing from piers and the shore. I hope to see many of you out there!

Welcome to the Forum, karcop. Good luck and have a great time, but be careful of the Red Tide. It likes that area.

Welcome to the stage. I retired a few years ago and moved to Englewood. I have been fishing saltwater piers and jetties in that area, about 1 1/2hr south of you.

Welcome and get us some pics. I fish Anna Maria a lot and the rod and reel pier can be good but crowded, the area has taken a beating with the red tide but will come back we hope. Whiting can be caught off the beach and maybe a pomp. good luck.
