Been browsing the site for a month or so and like that the posts and members are real people, not mean spirited or salesmen. Tried drift-boat fishing on the Rogue river in Southern Oregon last week for the first time. Learned a lot and had a great time catching fish.

Wow inthebox nice intro, nice pic, that fish is outside the box lol 😆
Thanks everyone for the welcome to the site
Nice 'nookie ! What stretch (put-in or take-out) of the river were you fishing ? Did you like your guide ?
I'm always getting asked about the guides around here, and frankly, I just don't use them enough to know anymore....of the two that I used to use, one retired and one has passed on to "the great riffle".
Thanks for sharing !
Put in at Dodge Bridge with Charlie Brown (real name) of Fishing the Rogue, he and his wife run the company. He said he used about 6 other guides besides himself. Very nice guy, and most importantly, we caught fish even though the spring run was passed and the fall run hadn't started yet.
Thanks InTheBox for the info, just what I needed to know. That's a stretch that I haven't been down for a couple of years. I've been hitting the upper and way down by Galice, but I need to get over to Dodge Bridge and brave "Rattlesnake" (notorious boulder-bouncing section) if my shoulders can manage that. I assume you probably took out at Touvelle Park, here in Medford (?).
Glad you had a good trip, and thanks for the name. Have heard good things about Charlie Brown, but didn't really know anyone that had fished with him or his crew. Might just have to go with him, my days "on the sticks" get more challenging with each passing year, especially on those more technical class runs.
Thanks again, and give me a buzz if you come up wanting to catch some trout, perhaps we can get together to wet a line in my boat at some nearby lakes I have knowledge of ..... there's at least 4 or 5 that always produce for me.
