A good morning. Like the title says. I used a Wal Mart $ 1.97 micro crank bait for the bass and red breast & a 1.97 yellow spinner for the other bass. And using snap swivels. I change em out a lot Easier for me. Caught on Zebco Spyn ultra lite spinning and a Daiwa Samuri ( Buy one get one half off at Dick’s ). Soooo all you newbies .... Enjoy the sport of fishing. Ya don’t need the finest equipment just patience. It’s a life long endeavor. Right lines all.

Good point Crankit47! I've caught more trout in tennis shoes and cutoffs than I have in Simms waders. It doesn't take a lot of money to enjoy the sport.

I'm not too far behind you in years and I'm still catching fish with my $15 Eagle Claw Rod and $10 Shakespeare spinning reel. Also have some $1.50 Mepps look alikes that knock em dead.

I have been fishing for 69 years that I can remember and I agree that the equipment doesn't equate into fish. I will say that better equipment provides a better chance of landing a big fish, but when it comes right down to it a stick with some kite string, a safety pin and an earthworm will catch a fish (and isn't that what this is all about?)

Right! Close behind ya with 60 yrs fishin after my granny taught me with a cane pole and worms out of the backyard. My favorite rigs are old Johnson reels on whatever rods - old school is the best school! It ain't about how many, just about how much fun looking for them! Ain't no such thing as a bad day fishing!
