The fishing at Sauvie Island started out slow but in the end they picked up pretty good. I seem to come home with something to make a meal out of every time I go fishing there.

Good morning, Rick and welcome to the Forum. That beats a skunk. Thanks for sharing.
I like your avatar! A nice smile and beautiful scenery. It's hard to beat that.

I guess they did pick up, substantially, Rick. Nice catch. Thanks for the pictures.
I actually caught a little fellow like that with my hand last year on the bank of Driftwood river in southern IN.

Looks like mom and dad showed up. LOL
Nice large aquarium fish. It will keep your aquarium clean, even get rid of other fish. Those are quite good eaten if out of clean water and properly cleaned. They just provide little meat due to the large head. No complaints. They have saved many an otherwise dissapointing trip. those larger ones are fun to catch on light gear.
Nice. Those fish are trophy's to youngsters who normally target bluegill. My grandsons get very excited (as they should) when they catch one while yellow perch fishing. I enjoy fishing for them as well.
