I don't rely on moon phases and tidal charts religiously, but I do pay attention to them. They are very important at different times of year. Spawning activities can revolve around moon phase very closely. Many feeding binges seem to coincide with moon phase and/or tidal changes, .. including currents created by water releases from dams.

You said it perfectly. They are very important but it isn't the be all end all to Fishing but it definitely helps.

I fished all last night and only caught two small bass. After about midnight I couldn't buy a strike. Threw everything I had at 'em at all my favorite spots.

I find it funny, cause I to am interested in the moon, the water temp, the air temp, time of day, the color of the lures, is the water clear or stained? and depending on where I’m fishing, the tides.
Fishing is, to some great extent, a science. And with a lot of study, you’ll find the best times to go, and may end up catching more.
However if we can just stop concentrating on the science, and just go fish. Well have a great time. Isn’t just about being out there, enjoying the water and the tranquility.
Just fish!

all of the "moon" stuff baffles me. Here's what I rely on … if the moon and stars are out and illuminating everything, it allows the bass to see better and to feed better. The next day, they're full and not hitting much. But … on a dark night, no moon, no stars, cloudy, etc, the next day they're famished and you're more likely to hit pay dirt.
