Shrimp in the St Johns near Orange Park

A friend of mine who lives on Dr. Lake off the St Johns went out with his wife for a couple of hours last week and netted enough shrimp to bring home for a nice shrimp boil. I haven't been shrimping the last several years but the time around Labor Day was always pretty good.

Our bait shrimping opens on Sept. 9th for 60 days. Can't wait.

Two weeks ago on the St. John’s in Palatka the shrimp were running many boat on both side of the bridge out cast netting. This past weekend they were casting
From the docks so they must still be around.)
