if you're fly fishing it's bumble bees or black ants
I’ll be using a spinning rig.
My go to for day trips from Castine Maine, about a million years back, was a dark 3 inch tube worm weighted for a slow sink. Nearly all my fish hit when the lure was falling. I expect a stick bait would be a good replacement. They were not available in the dark ages.
Be advised, I had very little luck with the tube worm on small mouth in Maine.
