Spent a couple hours either side of high tide yesterday fishing with 'chovies. One serious strike, but it was a shaker striper.
Discovered that I really need to go with braided line on the baitcaster. New fangled contraption kept tangling up when experimenting with a jig. My old river pole and spinner are still going strong after 35 years though.
Sitting on a fishing dock watching all the boaters coming in with fish sure is giving me serious boat envy

Yup, from around 1400 to 1800. I was the lone dock dude, sitting on my collapsable chair puffing on a pipe. And grumbling, grumbling, grumbling about the lack of bites while watching all those lucky anglers coming in on boats with fish!
May have to try Beldens over on Montezuma slough today. Never been, so not sure what to expect...

We did have 2 keepers yesterday. But we were coming off the water bout noon or a little after.
We actually caught bout 45 yesterday between the 3 of us though.

Trying here today, fishing the late afternoon high tide. Saw one keeper in the line, dude says it is around 22 inches, so there is hope
