Hi Gary
I also fish the Juniata from Rt 35 bridge in Mifflintowm down past Thomsontown. My pb is 19.25 4lbs 40z.My brother and I go with a guide on a drift boat. This year has been tough because of the weather. July 23 was the best trip this year I had 51 smallies,my brother had 49 and we both lost smallies 20+ inches. Our best trip was on Sherman’s creek my brother had109 smallies I had 48. We hooked and lost over 50 smallies.
Text me and I will text you pictures.

good to meet you Jeff. my favorite stretch on the Juniata is at Newton Hamilton. Very low now. My boat can only go a few hundred yards upstream and down. Looking to fish and put in at Muskrat Springs and motor up to Walker. Thinking river may be deeper. Any experience on this stretch? My PB is 18 1/2. 90% of my fish caught on Nikko helgramite and Ned rig.

99% of the fish we catch are on Zman TRD,s the other 1% are on Zman ticklers. Green pumpkin goby,Canada Craw and Green Pumpkin. My go to and pb green pumpkin goby. We floated Muskrat Springs down stream, we are in a drift boat. The guy we go with is Jake Villwock {Relentlessflyfishing.com}. He has videos on his website. What boat do you have? My brother and I have Kayaks.

Hey Vandy, I'm in Altoona, never river kayek-fished. Doing poorly this summer on Glendale Lake. We should talk! Send me a DM if you'd like.

I have a 16ft flat bottom with a 30hp jet motor. Good for skinny water to about 1 1/2 foot. Also have 15 ft canoe. Got rid of kayak. Too old and fat! Sounds like Muskrat Springs going downstream would be a good area for my flat bottom.

I had a pontoon at Glendale. Sold it 2 years ago. Had trouble with the motor. I don't like lake fishing anyway. Glendale was a waste of time for me. If you have a kayak try the Juniata. Pick a 4 mile float. I've floated everything from the Point to Newton Hamilton in a kayak. Also Raystown Dam to the point. The river is very low now. Smallies love soft plastic on a Ned rig.
