going to tahoe next weekend with kayak by mckinney bay, anyware good to fish? maybe trolling for trout ?

Hey Benjie, welcome to the stage. I've never fished over there but live over in South Lake Tahoe.
If you can find an area where there are rocks all along the water and under should be a good area to troll in your kayak. I would put out at least 100 to 150 feet of line behind your yak. We would troll with bout 200+ feet of line behind the boat when I use to fish there years ago.
As you know the water is exceptionally clear and the fish spook easily. However, with a yak you won't spook them nearly as badly as drivin a motor boat over them.
I would fish as early as you could stand to launch OR fairly late in the evenin. That's for top lining trollin.
If you wanted to try leadcore fishin for DEEPER fishin you will need to make sure of your depth of water for that.

thanks for the info, I am using lead core might even try trolling flies they have worked great in my local spots and at Prosser! Will pay attention to depths amd fish finder do not know the area I am staying at, by homewood!
