Does anyone live in central Florida and fish fresh water for bass. I look through all these posts and don’t see it. Only salt water and not in my state. I asked about Lake Pan, Panesofkey three weeks ago. I know it’s spelled wrong but if you know the lake you can figure it out. Is there any bass fishing information on that lake?

Good morning, Professor, and welcome to the Forum. We have a lot of members in the great state of FL. most of them are Salt fishermen, but we have a few that are bass fishermen. I have no clue why they don't answer you.

This is Richie,
live in Leesburg on Lake Griffin (9473 acres) which is part of the Harris Chain of Lakes. Griffin connects with 5 other big lakes. Great bass and crappie fishing in all of them.
I just sold my 22' Hurricane Deck boat to my neighbor. Fishing from my dock and doing pretty good on the bass
Crappie should get good when the weather cools.
I will be selling my 3 bedroom, 3 bath. 2350 SF house if you are interested

Not sure how far you are willing to ride but West Lake Toho (Lake Toho) in Kissimmee used to be my home lake. Lots of hydrilla mats on it so if you fish any lakes around your area that have hydrilla, find the edge and throw soft jerk baits, plastic worms, top water plugs, or buzz baits. Of course you’ll have to put in the time to locate them but start in an area that has plenty of shade like pad cover. Hope this helps

Southport is actually at the South end of West Lake in the Kissimmee chain. If you go through the locks you’ll go through what used to be the Kissimmee River system that flows South all the way down into Lake Cypress, Hatchineha, Kissimmee, and eventually Ockechobee. I’ve never fished Panasoffkee but if it is anything like what you saw around Southport, use the same techniques. If the water is tannic, use shiny, bright colored baits. My profile picture is a 12 pounder I caught on a frog just up from Southport. Hope you the best.

I specifically use A LOT of old school baits. 3/4 oz Johnson Silver Spoon with a white skirt, Devil horse, Zara Spook, KVD sexy frogs, and Zoom paddle leg frog. I’ve caught a few 9’s and a 10 on the Devil horse. Same with the spoon. My biggest one (12) came on the paddle leg frog. You can fish it though heavy cover slow or burn it through pad cover like a buzz bait. Hope you the best.
