Mid spring, when water temperatures are on the rise. Of course, that's in locations with seasonal climates. I don't know about the deep south, where it seldom gets really cold. April-May in my neighborhood.

April to early May in the south. Early June to mid or late June in Minnesota where I do a lot of large mouth bass fishing.

This is all set up by water temps, moon phases, and amount of day light.
Depending on weather can swing one way or the other by weeks.
Also all bass do not spawn at same time. There will be a major spawn but also minor ones befor and after the peak.
