Jepo32750: Man, the Sabine lake is the most ignored and overlooked lake in LA and TX. When I was actively fishing there, I was never skunked by my guide. I expect that you can find reds and specs biting most of the time. The lake is also good for flounder. I never much cared to fish for flounder because they are about like reeling in a wet towel!
For bull reds you might try the jetties with whole or cut mullet. Ask your bait shop manager when in the area, because they are usually up to date on where, when and what. Just Sayin...RJS
