Awesome sunrise Blackbart. Nice fish as well. Is that an electric outboard on your boat? How many HP?

Say "hi" to Santa for me, Bart. Beautiful sunrise, it looks like the woods behind you are on fire. Your motor looks like a big ol'coffee pot. I'll bet it's quiet..

48 volt Ray Electric
Just visited the Ray Electric site to research your motor's price and specs. Big question..... what batteries are you using for yours ?
The "required" for the 48v is listed as "8 golf cart batteries"..... really ? Where/how do you put EIGHT batteries on a boat with any practicality ?
And does its "equivalent to 16hp" get your boat 'on plane" ?
I'm "all in" for going totally electric, but I wonder how much of that power is being used solely for carrying the batteries. 8 batteries is easily the equivalent of ONE BIG, BIG GUY OR TWO AVERAGE EXTRA PEOPLE ONBOARD isn't it ?

Many Golf Cart battery application utilize Trojan brand 12VDC or 6VDC. They are expensive but very HD and very reliable if wired and maintained properly. There are other brands of batteries but Trojan is the old school GOOD STUFF.
48VDC would be 4 12vdc or 8 6vdc in series. 48VDC battery bank. Fixorfish. Yes they are heavy and take up space but a solar canopy could be built and never need to plug the boat in to recharge it.
