Hello again, I fished the Gilbert River boat ramp again today and caught some nice catfish for this are. On a hot day in only 2 hours with some night crawlers a nice meal is caught. They’re not the biggest but the fun I had relaxing with my dog was a real treat. I highly recommend this spot, if your not from the area it’s a little hard to find but it’s on google maps.

Nice catching Rick. Tasty meal too. Thanks for sharing.
I'm an Oregonian for 38+ years and had never heard of the "Gilbert River", not so unusual since Oregon has such a plethora of waterways. Sauvie Island adjacent waterway 17 miles long !
Seems like my "fishing bucket list" for Oregon alone is getting longer each week.
I used to long for the wherewithal to go fishing anywhere on the planet, but in the past decade, I have narrowed my focus to merely getting as much of the PNW waters experienced as possible......still a daunting task.
"So many lures (& places !), So little time !"
PS....I have also resolved (and scold myself for any transgressions !) to NOT purchase any more lures or tackle until I have utilized each and every lure and rod I already own..... most likely won't live long enough to throw every fly in my flyboxes !
I was amazed to find out that there was a Gilbert River myself, I’ve lived in North Portland for 53 years myself. The fishing is fun which is all that matters.
Like today I’m in the middle of Dee Lake in Lincoln City. Fish are not biting but it’s my birthday so who cares?

Can't think of a better way to celebrate a Birthday Rick. Catching is a bonus, so enjoy the rest of your special day.
