Anyone got a tip on how to get a Buck 110 closed? Only way I've found to do it is with pliers, squeeze the bar. Normally you'd do that with your thumb. I'm just not strong enough. Used to be able to do it. I don't think I've lost that much strength.

Is it clean and lubed Spirit? Can't imagine the spring got tougher. I find my hand tools sticking and tough when they need cleaning. My grip ain't what it used to be. Hot soap and water on everything. Little light oil on both rivets. That's a good knife. Hot tap water and dish soap is good stuff.

Sounds like there’s some obstruction or something. That should be a one hand operation. You would think that it would get easier with use. Or it should. Hmmm 🤔 let us know what you find out. Maybe the locking mechanism got bent somehow. Making it harder to release…🤷‍♂️ 🐟on

Must be dirty or have some lint in the mechanism?

Spirit like the rest sounds like some dirt in it. I've had my 110 for more years than I can remember. Better try mine. Some wd 40 or silicone spray. Maybe both. Good luck brother 👍

Probably a combination Spirit. Mine has been a little harder to open lately too, and the arthitis in my thumb doesnt help. It does get a little easier if I shoot a little hot soapy water in. I clean it every time I use it.

I used pliers for the one Hutch bought me at a flea market. Mine was stolen.
Kept putting WD40 in there and now it works with just my fingers. My favorite knife. Good luck.

I'm gonna try putting it through the dish washer and then lubing it up real well with WD40. My old boss John Carny will be rolling in his grave. I'll have to think about that. What do you all think?

Get some Kano Sili Kroil Penetrating Oil, I think one of the best.

3 in 1 oil works great. WD40 to loosen it up its not oil 👍

I never put an edged knife in the dishwasher. It dulls the edge because of the abrasives they use. I would just soak the hinge with so a py water then hit it with a spray nozzle followed by thorough lube.

I would not put it in the dish washer, 3-1 oil WD40 should work. Hate to tell but could just be your hands. My hands are getting bad with arteritis getting real hard to open jar lips, and lots of other stuff. Retried your Hunter and get a new easy opening folder. Good luck
