What's something besides the obvious that you always bring with you when you go fishing?
What's something besides the obvious gear (rod, lures, line, ect.) that you always bring with you when you go fishing?
Like I always bring a hat, polarized glasses, and a sun sleeve that I wear on my neck because I'm a redhead and burn if the moon's to bright.

I also bring a knife, a lighter or matches in a zip loc bag, tylenol or advil, and toilet paper. A first aid kit may not be the worst to have on hand at least in your boat if you're on one or in your car if you are bank fishing.

Yeah there's always a knife and clippers in my box. And if it's a long trip toilet paper is in a bag for sure. I've never really worried to much about a first aid kit though.

Typically some water sunscreen (depending on time of day) and bug spray. Bug spray is key to not being eaten alive in Texas summers.

Yeah bug spray is great when you need it. I bought some net thing you wear over your hat and head to keep bugs away. I haven't had to use it yet, since I just got it a couple days ago, but I know it'll come in handy.

Coffee, bug spray, and a hat.

I look like a dork because I'm carrying both a traditional tackle box and a backpack. The backpack is for 1st aid, bug spray, sunscreen, water bottles, backup eyeglasses (have had them break unexpectedly before), and a rag. Folding pliers on my belt.

Water. Lots of water. It is so easy to get dehydrated while fishing. A quality pair of nippers and hemos are indispensable.

In my boats . . . an all plastic fly swatter.

Some great ideas from everybody. I, at least, got a chuckle from everybody; good fun for all ages, sexes and interests (mostly fishing though)! (I might could snag a fish with a fly swatter, that would be different, eh?)
When surf fishing, Bait board (1" thick, 6" wide, 8" long) for cutting up bait - squid, clams, bunker.
Small soft cooler with ice - keeps bait fresh and protects it from thieving sea gulls.
I always take a cooler along in my boat. It has 10 pounds of ice to keep my catch cold. When using nightcrawlers, they are either in my cooler, or I put an occasional cube in my container. I enjoy spending the day on the water. I can also keep my lunch and water cold. Usually I also take a thermos of coffee along as well.
A very attractive bikini clad fishing secretary is a must
And beer. And a good book if the secretary can' make it.
