What’s the best bait for bass and catfish in ft Gibson lake
Hello fishingbobber. Catfish bait at Ft Gibson lake is pretty much the same as in any other Oklahoma lake. Shad or cutbait works on everything unless you're after flathead. If that's the case live perch (bluegill) will work best overall. The water is very warm right now & bass have been slow. If you ask 6 guys you'll get 6 different answers. Go prepared to try different depths til something likes what you have tied on. Fish very early on very late. Tight lines.
Sounds good been fishing late will try shad this cool weather that came in may help

I'm hoping this cooling rain has helped a little. The surface temp this past week has been over 89 degrees on Lake Tenkiller & ft Gibson. I was out 3 times in the last week & never had a hit. I'm hitting it again tomorrow morning but on a 13 acre pond. I've had good luck there fishing really early. I've caught LM bass there to 10 lbs. The pond was owned & stocked years ago by the TV fisherman Jimmy Houston. Yes, I'm trying to convince myself I'm going to have a good trip. Good luck to you on Ft Gibson lake.
Went out last night on ft Gibson it was nice caught catfish with shad and live worms was a good evening
