Looking to match a NON roller type rod to a Penn MODEL#FTH40NLDHS. This an offshore high speed recovery reel.
The reel has a 7:1 ratio and a line capacity of almost 800 yards of 50# braided line.
I question its use for schoolie tuna fishing with that high a ratio. Possible “deep drop” reel but again question the high gear ratio. That being said, a rod to match to it would be a six foot 40-100 lb
Stand Up rod with conventional guides spiral wrapped. Look at rods from Blackhole, Phenix and Jigging World.
