I had a wonderful time fishing with Jeremy and Jim on the Samson out of Depot Bay in the Oregon Coast.
It was a cold drizzly morning , sea was a little rough with a South wind at 10 to15, swells +-8ft. My old legs have forgotten how to buck bales on a moving truck, no bruises.πŸ‘
Biting was slow, we would get 1 or 2 on a pass through the bait school. I caught 1,Native, so C&R. I borrowed a surrogate for pic. I didn't get a final tally, guessing 20 Natives to 6 or 7 keepers. Glad to see that %of Natives.
Edit: That was for 17 people in the boat.

Way to go Miss Marion. Good looking fish. Glad y'all had fun. Not sure I would hold up to 8'ers. How are you feeling now? We can't fish with everyone but we can enjoy the time with the ones we do. πŸ‘πŸŽ£πŸŽ£

That is good that you had a nice trip, even with the 8'ers, Marion. What kind of place was that one picture taken with a bunch of guys standing around in front of the women's can?

Pic was in front. Dockside Charters filet station. One poor guy sat and watched all the fish cleaning, he had cought the most fish, 6, all Natives πŸ₯΄, and was going home empty-handed.
Jeremy sent me home with some filets of his fish, what a cool guy.😊

I’m glad you were able to enjoy yourself and appreciate the experience even though you didn’t catch a β€œkeeper”. Many clients on guided fishing excursions get really testy when they don’t have fillets to take home, even if they have caught multiple fish. The conditions that you described are not what I would consider tolerable. I probably would have spent most of my time out there at the rail.
