Bass fishing beginner-need some tips.
Hi everyone, i need some help.
I've been fishing for about thirty years, but never for bass. I live in Europe and although bass has been present in our waters for some time i have never specifically target bass until recent.
Recently i discoverd a few ponds which have healthy bass population and i've caught some, but none of them bigger than 10 inches although i've seen much bigger fish.
Now, i know you need to fish for bass near structures, sunken trees, weed etc. ,and i have tried a range of lures (crankbaits, senko type lures, spinnerbaits, topwater) but wasn't able to catch anythig big.
Are there any proven techniques to target bigger bass? And is it possible to provoke a bite from those big ones which can see swimming near the surface?
Also, i'd be interested in some lure exchange if someone is interested in something that can't be bought in USA.
P.S. all bass i have mentioned are largemouth

Try throwing topwater in early morning and later in the evening. This always seems to do well for me and you could use anything from a whopper plopper and buzz baits In cleaner water (bc the weeds tangle up the blades) or if it is super mossy try using popper frogs, or maybe scum frogs! Another few classic baits if you wanna try night fishing are jitterbugs (I have caught more bass at night on those than I can count but buy the two jointed version) or spooks!! Hope I could help! Tight lines!
