Got into the reds Saturday near Dog River. I normally release them but ended up keeping a limit for a fish fry. I caught about 11 total, early before it got too hot and kept (2)-25" and one oversize 32". Was using chunks of peeled 16/20 dead shrimp left over from last fall. Still good shrimp froze in water, bought them in south LA near the camp for $3/lb.

That they are bk, i compare to it like a striper.
Thanks for the comments, I'm glad we can keep one oversized here along the Bama coast. A guy I know holds the state record for redfish. He caught it at night by the coal tipple where the sewage discharge is. Record or not I never could bring myself to fish that spot. Not just the "effluent" discharge that is supposedly clean, but sometimes at night I would see him fishing there when I boarded a ship, he and his boat would be covered black with coal dust.
