Many of us are praying for members and family who are fighting Cancer. Because we all have finite minds we can lose track of who exactly we are praying for, and praying Lord someone ,can't remember who ,has cancer please heal him, isn't every effective. Is anyone interested in starting a list, or being on one, so those among us who would feel drawn to pray can do so more effectually.
James 5: 16, The efectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availith much.
Would this be a problem with hippa rules?
I am limited as I don't have a computer and don't know how to use one.

Three time a week I go to the YMCA and shoot the breeze, drink coffee and play Cribbage with an old retired Navy Chief who is 3 years older than me. He joined the Navy in 1954 He is dealing with Cancer. He is a shadow of what he was once. Lost a lot of weight and is really wrinkled. He has his suppository last dose of Chemo coming up. His wife is in poor health and needs a walker and once again was hospitalized for two weeks. The sad thing of all of this is a couple weeks ago, he announced to me that he and his wife were going to have to leave their home of many many years and go live in an assisted living place. He and I feel really bad about that.

I think that is a very good idea, Marion, I'll do what I can to help, I have a computer but I'm not very high tech. Let's give this some thought for a bit, and see what we can come up with. For some, they may not want their cancer to be known to the public and that is their choice. But, for those that do and would like some support, I am certainly willing to give them all of the support that I can. This is something that I have thought of for a long time and it is my opinion that it is something that is needed. A prayer list may seem strange to be on a Fishing Forum, so, my first job will be to contact the administration to find out what their thoughts are on this matter. I will do that ASAP, and relay their thought to you Marion. We will need help as far as ideas and groundwork. All help will be appreciated, but first, lets get the administration's approval.

Flyguy, my suggestion would be like we did keeping tract of who lived where in the country at the beginning when we first got started on the FS.
A easy excel program and copy it to a flash drive in the event you get hacked or the computer gets toasted.

Now, that I don't know what to do, I put my lists in my docs. I will do some research on it and if I can understand it, I will put our lists in it too.
I'm going to send a PM to the administration at this time.

I heard back from the administration and they wondered how we were going to do it, a long-running topic or a separate section. I answered them and told them, which ever way their prefered.

I think it would run in CC and just let it run and document those that respond.
Then I would suggest like the Vet list i do, pick certain times of the year and repost the list.

We will wait and see what the Administration says but that makes sense to me. Thanks, Bob.
I think it's a great idea Marion
Hi MM, noble idea. I would like to see if the political company, CDC, has some information on whether cancer has shown a dramatic increase the past two years over other similar periods. Been hearing about and from friends getting cancer out of the blue, even though previously healthy and no outward warnings. Granted that happens to people that way, but the numbers seem to be rising too fast without some examination as to why. Wonder what has been pushed last two years that could possibly account for this?
Hi MM, read some posts like Flyguy's who willing to ad some help to your thought. My wife spends 45" each morning, praying for numerous people on her prayer list. Some have since passed and some actually have miraculously gotten better. From past experiences with her sister, diagnosed with a brain tumor at 9 and given 6-12 months to live, floods of prayers went out back then and specifically through Padre Pio. Her history is full of "can't believes". She eventually died at 53 and along the way doctors said, "we can't explain this". So I certainly believe prayer very powerful. And when someone passes on despite prayers, we are not in a position to understand why. That is for HIM to know why. But if we don't pray, maybe some might not escape the final fate that would have if prayers had been said.
Maybe for those who want to be put on a prayer list, we could list their names and everyday, when we go to the Stage, seek out this list and quietly pray for these people.
It's been awhile. Has anything come of this?
Just wondering.

Flyguy Isn’t on. With with enjoying time and staying in Contact with one guy on here. C is a bad topic for me. Too many people I love have it or had it including myself. Supposedly it’s ok for now but I know it’s going to reveal its ugly face again.
