I was never in the military but I have a lot of respect for our service people. I remember how long it took to acknowledge agent orange causing a lot of illness for our veterans. Now I can’t believe that politicians have v**ed against giving help to veterans were affected by the the burn pits. Playing politics with our veterans is wrong.

The type of leaders we have now couldn’t care less about our military veterans. I DID serve our country so I’m speaking from experience.

why do they always have to attach something to a bill everyone agrees with something that is unrelated and torpedoes the whole bill? how about a clean bill only dealing with helping those who are suffering as a result of serving our country. the fact that they don't shows they really aren't concerned about helping vets just using them as bargaining chips. shame on them

Not sure where you got that information but that bill was passed a few weeks ago. Veterans who suffer an illness from the burn pits gets a rating of 60% up front Congress allocated 3.5 billion it’s under the PACT bill

that's good news although the senate final v**e I believe was today. my understanding is the house made changes to the bill and passed it July 27 then it went back to the senate where it was finally passed and now will be sent to President to sign. I think the hold up was caused by some tax that was added and finally changed or removed in the house and then had to go back to the senate or something like that. this should have been an easy pass.

I understand that some of the wording was w as changed in the house bill. Senate passed it today. How many jobs do guys know where you end a millionaire in a year or two? Politicians do.

True it’s so sad and the worse part is most of them have never served so they don’t know the ends or outs how it affect us soldiers but yet they make the laws. I think it’s more about helping themselves live the good life and keep their money while putting more in their pockets. It’s the same with Social Security. I never understood why you have to fight for what’s already yours. They have no problems holding it or passing it on the people who doesn’t work and lunch on the government

I could not agree more, Troy. I doubt that any congressman is actually writing the bills. Some special interest group is usually the real author. The real problem is that people say they are our “leaders”, forgetting that they are really our representatives.
I would love to see the day that we get bills that address single items and cut pork.
Have a great day, my Brother.

That and we pay income tax on our social security checks after we’ve already been taxed on it when they took it. My social security check, the joke that it is, after paying in for over 50 years is 1/2 of what the i******s get after paying in for zero years. Then they deduct $148.00/month for Medicare that don’t cover anything plus I pay income tax on all of it at the end of the year. Pretty much a kick in the teeth for being a U.S. citizen paying into the system my whole life. All said and done I get about enough each month to buy a couple of tanks of gas while I watch the i******s driving new vehicles, living in government housing, getting free medical coverage, free schooling and I STILL have to pay for it for them. And people wonder why we look for creative ways to survive. If we invest wisely they take most of that, if we work hard for a pension they take most of that, if we inherit anything from our elders that take most of that. It sure would be nice to sign up for “undocumented immigrant” status and just get everything free or apply for a disability we don’t deserve and collect a check every month like many people do. I couldn’t do that because I was raised differently but there sure are a ton of people doing it. One of my clients from Oregon draws a $900.00 disability check for agent orange and he was never exposed to it. His doctor helped him get it simply because he was enlisted in the navy during the Vietnam conflict and he got it and was never around agent orange. He didn’t want to take it but I told him if he didn’t they would just give it to someone else that didn’t deserve it anyway. I still could not accept a disability check even if I had one coming. I’m able to get by so I do.

Yeah, it FINALLY passed the Senate, after a SECOND v**e (BTW... not a single word was changed from the the first presentation...so ? a display of defiance ? Naaah, just being their usual contentious selves)...after the typical Ted Cruz et.al. group of REPUBLICAN senators did their normal (and poorly thought out) b.s. thing of "showing us who's holding the reins on this ride"..... shameless dolts.
So Republicans... write your own bill and present it, if you don't like the one in front of you......"Naaah, that would be like real work, we'd rather just b***h and delay wh**ever the Dems put forth" say the Repubs... again and again and again....."we get paid either way, win/lose, pass/no pass, right or wrong, instigate progress for the country or send it back 50 years"...... kinda like the weather reporter folk who retain their job despite their ineptitude. So sad.

I could not agree more with it all. The VA deemed me with 100% unable to work. My VA doctor file for my SSA disability and I been turned down 3 times. Was told by SSA that the VA doctors don’t count. They have their own doctors who does what they say because SSA is paying them. I believe in this world it’s the money that talk and who you know. We elect people who we THINK are the right ones then they turn on us once the money flows into their pockets. I have often said all of them need to deploy just once and stay the entire deployment. How can someone become secretary of the Army but yet never served. Gen. Austin was my commander at Ft. Campbell and he was straight. You would think things for the Military would be better. Then again look at how they treated McCain it bothers me because I strong feel unless you have served you should never hold an official office dealing with the Military just my thoughts

I agree Troy👍 Sadly we have members in office who, not only, have never served our county but don’t even care about anything but becoming rich during their terms. It’s too bad you served your country( not in my opinion) . If you hadn’t you could just walk into a disability office and claim a sore foot and they’d write you a check and send you vacationing. I know a guy (not mentioning any names here) who said “I’m not going to get my foot fixed because I’ll lose my disability check if I do”. He’s never served our country but he can sure tell you how things are supposed to be handled.

Our Uncle Pasqual Pena passed away 15 years ago, he passed from agent Orange! I'll never forget ,because he lived Caddy corner to us , his wife Darlene called to ask if I could please help move him from his lazy-boy to the gurney, his legs and arms were full of wart like things to where if they scraped against anything they bleed for hours, person here will twist the original post to fit his tormentulous life apparently , but there are many men & women here on Stage that didnt serve but Always support our Vets, I'm gonna pick some of your offspring of seeds you sent me this weekend , will send photos my Friend
